Afghan Daman Selection #8
Afghan Daman Selection #8
Also known as: Daman Village, Kandahar Section #8, Afghan Selection #8
Overview
Afghan Daman Selection #8 is a rare landrace indica strain from the Indian Landrace Exchange, sourced directly from Daman Village in the Kandahar district of Afghanistan. This strain represents the final selection from one of the most genetically diverse cannabis populations the ILE team encountered in Afghanistan. The plant exhibits a unique and impressive structure - both tall and bushy with growth starting from the bottom of the stalk, creating a round appearance with clear apical dominance resembling a mosque dome. What makes this selection particularly striking are its extremely narrow leaflets that display a flush purple color, combined with above-average bud growth covered in a thick layer of trichomes. This phenotype maintained all its leaves, branches, and buds intact through harvest in early November, demonstrating exceptional hardiness. The strain features a complex and strong aromatic profile combining fresh earth, nuts, diesel, and spices, with diesel notes being particularly prominent. As a true landrace variety from the Hindu Kush region, it carries ancient genetics that have been naturally selected over centuries, offering cultivators a glimpse into the original cannabis gene pool from Afghanistan.

Growing Information
Afghan Daman Selection #8 is rated as moderate difficulty, making it suitable for growers with some experience. The flowering time is 60-70 days with harvest typically occurring in early November for outdoor cultivation. Expected yields are 350-450g/m² indoors and approximately 300g per plant outdoors. The strain thrives in warm, arid climates and requires low humidity for optimal flavor and resilience. It can be grown both indoors and outdoors, with indoor cultivation offering better environmental control. The plant has a short, squat structure ideal for LST (Low Stress Training) and SCROG techniques. High airflow is essential to prevent powdery mildew. The strain shows good pest and disease resistance but requires proper environmental management. Regular seeds produce both male and female plants, making phenotype hunting possible for breeders.
