Afghan OG
Afghan OG
Also known as: Afghani, Afghan Kush, Afghanistan
Overview
Afghan OG is the great Granddaddy Kush of them all. Originating in the Hindu Kush Mountains, perhaps the last wild bastion of 100% indica purity. Afghan OG, also known as Afghani, is a landrace strain originating from the Hindu Kush region, where ancient cannabis plants have thrived for centuries. This remarkable strain has served as the genetic foundation for many contemporary cannabis strains, including some of the most potent indica varieties worldwide. Afghan OG is more than just old school, it's positively prehistoric weed, perhaps as ancient as the Hindu Kush mountains themselves, which straddle the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan and from where this strain originates. Stoner lore has it, that the precious landrace Afghani cannabis genetics were smuggled out of the region in the 1970's prior to the Soviet invasion.
As a pure indica landrace strain, Afghan OG represents one of the most genetically stable and historically significant cannabis varieties. Classified as a landrace strain, Afghan OG developed naturally over generations, adapting to the hard conditions without human intervention. Its lineage traces back to Hindu Kush, a strain celebrated for its resilience, high resin production, and ability to thrive in cold, extreme environments. The strain is characterized by its compact, bushy structure with broad leaves and dense, resinous buds that produce an exceptional amount of trichomes. Afghan OG smells rich, earthy and very hash-like. Buds are dense with orange hairs and incredibly resinous.

Growing Information
Flowering is rapid with just 7-8 weeks of standard 12/12 needed to bring ripe Afghan OG to harvest. Outdoors Afghan OG is a well adapted to a hot dry climate. She will retain her bushy structure and grow up to 2m tall. Indoor growers can expect around 400g/m² from squat less than 1m tall branchy plants that exude heavy indica characteristics from top to bottom. Production can be as much as 400g per plant with minimal fertiliser required. Regardless of your level of cultivation experience, Afghan OG is a very stable easy cropping strain. Afghan OG is considered beginner-friendly due to its resilience and ease of growth. It can thrive both indoors and outdoors with minimal complications. The strain prefers low humidity environments and direct root feeding rather than foliar feeding. Dense buds can be vulnerable to mold in damp conditions, making proper ventilation essential.
