African Gold from Aficionado Seed Bank is described as a 100% Sativa African landrace variation of Malawi Gold, created by crossing Malawi Gold x African Buzz. This strain can be cultivated indoors and outdoors with a flowering time of approximately 11 weeks (77 days). Any sativa aficionados will appreciate the buzzy and exciting effect this African strain produces. While marketed as a landrace variation, it is technically a hybrid cross between two African genetics. Malawi Gold, one of its parent strains, is internationally renowned as one of the finest sativa strains from Africa and is among "the best and finest" marijuana strains in the world according to a World Bank report. The Malawi Gold genetics are believed to have been brought to the region by Arab traders in the 15th century or before, creating a beautiful sativa that grows tall and strong with resin-covered buds and a pineapple, lemon and spicy aroma.

African Gold can be cultivated indoors and outdoors with a flowering time of 11 weeks. It is a good yielder and is best grown indoors and in greenhouses, unless grown in warmer climates with no chance of frost. Although it is a pure sativa it has a quick vegetative stage in optimum conditions and growers should only allow 2-3 weeks growth before switching to flowering to minimize its height. The strain takes 11 weeks to flower during which its typical structure of long branches begins to show. It is recommended as best for indoors and greenhouses, unless you are somewhere with no chance of frost until December such as Southern Italy and Spain. African cannabis genetics require hot, dry climates to thrive, and high humidity is the number one killer of African cannabis strains.
