American Beauty
American Beauty
Also known as: American Beauty S1
Overview
American Beauty is a well-balanced hybrid strain created by Dr. Underground as an homage to TGA Subcool's famous Plushberry. This strain was developed through crossing two selected Plushberry phenotypes, essentially creating an S1 (self-pollinated) version of the discontinued TGA Subcool variety. The original Plushberry lineage traces back to Space Queen x Black Cherry Soda, with Space Queen being a cross of Romulan x Cinderella 99. American Beauty maintains the balanced 50% indica/50% sativa genetics of its parent strain. The strain produces medium to large buds with a chunky, tapered shape and an indica-leaning internal structure featuring small, wide leaves that curl tightly inward. The flowers display vibrant mossy green colors with deep purple hues resulting from anthocyanin pigments, which can be enhanced by cold weather during cultivation. A high volume of trichomes makes the flowers very sticky to the touch.

Growing Information
American Beauty is considered an easy-to-grow strain suitable for both novice and experienced growers, with a forgiving and easygoing nature that responds well to training and pruning for maximum yields. Indoor flowering time is 8-9 weeks, while outdoor harvest occurs at the end of September to early October. Expected yields are substantial: 500-900g/m² indoors and up to 1200g/plant outdoors. The strain displays two similar phenotypes - one more likely to develop purple hues, and another with less color but denser, larger buds. Plants can be grown indoors or outdoors, though outdoor cultivation requires a humid climate with daytime temperatures between 70-80°F and short, bushy plant stature. Plants grow vigorously without problems and show good resistance to mold. To enhance purple coloration, expose plants to nighttime temperatures 10-15 degrees below average just before flowering begins.
