Apollo 13
Apollo 13
Also known as: Apollo Thirteen, A13
Overview
Apollo 13 is a legendary sativa-dominant hybrid cannabis strain created by the renowned Brothers Grimm Seeds in Colorado circa 1998. This coveted strain was developed by crossing P75 (Princess 75) with Genius, a phenotype of the famous Jack Herer strain. Apollo 13 holds special significance in cannabis history due to its extreme rarity - only 500 seeds were reportedly produced from the original stock, making authentic cuttings highly prized among collectors and cultivators. The strain was later utilized by breeder Subcool from TGA Genetics as a parent strain to develop other notable varieties including The Void and Third Dimension.
Visually, Apollo 13 produces medium to large sticky buds characterized by dense, resinous flowers with forest green coloration, sparse golden-yellow pistils, and an abundant coating of frosty trichomes. The buds display a cone-shaped structure with thick branches supporting the weight of the dense, crystalline flowers. Plants typically exhibit a squat profile with short internodes and vigorous lateral branching, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation despite their sativa dominance.

Growing Information
Apollo 13 is considered beginner-friendly despite its legendary status, requiring less attention than many strains. It has a relatively short flowering time of 7-8 weeks (49-56 days) and produces large, sticky buds with high resin content. Plants prefer warm conditions around 75°F during the day but are sensitive to cold nighttime temperatures. The strain performs well both indoors and outdoors, with indoor yields averaging 350-450 grams per square meter and outdoor plants producing around 450 grams per plant in optimal Mediterranean-like conditions. The plant benefits from SCROG or SOG techniques and regular pruning to improve airflow. It requires nutrient-rich soil and ample lighting when grown indoors.
