Apple Fritter S1 is a first-generation selfed (S1) feminized cannabis strain created by Clone Quest through the process of self-pollination of the original Apple Fritter cultivar. The 'S1' designation indicates that this strain was produced by reversing a female Apple Fritter plant to pollinate itself, resulting in seeds that carry genetics solely from the mother plant. This breeding technique allows for the preservation of elite genetic characteristics while creating feminized seeds that closely resemble the original parent strain.

The original Apple Fritter, from which this S1 was derived, was bred by Lumpy's Flowers in Northern California by crossing Sour Apple (a hybrid of Sour Diesel and Cinderella 99) with Animal Cookies (a cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Fire OG). This genetic lineage has created a balanced 50/50 indica-sativa hybrid known for its dessert-like aroma and potent effects. Apple Fritter gained significant recognition after placing 2nd in the Hybrids category at the 2016 High Times Northern California Cannabis Cup and was featured on High Times' 'World's Strongest Strains' list.
