Aurora Indica
Aurora Indica
Also known as: Aurora, A.I.
Overview
Aurora Indica is a 90% indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain created by crossing Afghan and Northern Lights genetics. Aurora Indica originated in the seed banks of Amsterdam during the 1990s, when European breeders were experimenting with potent strains, resulting from crossing Northern Lights with Afghan. Bred by Nirvana Seeds, this strain represents a classic example of old-school indica breeding, combining the legendary stability and potency of its parent strains.
Physically, Aurora Indica exhibits typical indica characteristics with short, bushy, and densely packed plants. The buds are solid and resinous, with pale green leaves, brown and red pistils, and a coating of crystal white trichomes, appearing as thick oversized dense and greasy dark olive green spade-shaped nugs. Aurora Indica produces ultra-compact, resin-coated buds about the size of golf balls. The strain is renowned for its heavy resin production, making it ideal for traditional hash-making methods like dry-sifting, as well as for modern solventless extracts like rosin, producing massive yields of incredibly pure, high-quality resin.

Growing Information
Aurora Indica seeds are readily available on the market, are fast flowering, and are relatively easy to grow, making this a good strain for beginners. Aurora Indica is a strong, sturdy plant that can handle most climates and is resistant to disease. Aurora Indica typically has a flowering time of 8-10 weeks, though some sources report 9 to 11-week flowering time for indoor gardens, or a mid-September harvest for outdoor growers. Expect up to 500g/m2 with average height of less than 1m, making this strain ideal for beginner growers. Aurora Indica yields 10-14 oz/m2 indoors and 14 ounces per plant outdoors. The strain thrives in both indoor and outdoor environments and is easy to grow, making it beginner-friendly. Keep humidity levels around 40-50% to reduce the risk of mold or bud rot, particularly during the late flowering stage.
