Australian Blue
Australian Blue
Also known as: Duck, Boesi
Overview
Australian Blue is a sativa-dominant hybrid bred by Homegrown Fantaseeds, created by crossing their prize-winning Blue Haze strain with an Australian sativa known as "Duck" or "Boesi" that was gifted to them in 1999. This 90% sativa strain contributes a classic sativa high and the clean musk of a lemon grove. The haze influence combined with the dominant sativa genetics make Australian Blue a leggy plant that loves to branch and get tall, forming branches from the bottom and growing into a slender Christmas-tree shape.
The strain displays thick popcorn-shaped leafy nugs that are dark olive green in color with blue and purple undertones, covered with furry purple and blue hairs and a thick layer of crystal white trichomes. Australian Blue has an aroma of grassy sweet lemon and a taste of sweet lemon pine that intensifies upon exhale, producing flavors of pine and fresh lemon. Australia is well known as one of the great global spots for sativas, and this strain exemplifies that heritage with its distinctive characteristics and potent effects.

Growing Information
Australian Blue requires an 11-week flowering cycle (approximately 73-77 days) and needs a locale where the thermometer stays above 17 Celsius (62 Fahrenheit), though it can be grown indoors in locations that don't meet these criteria. When grown indoors, the average expected yield is approximately 0.75 ounces (20-25 grams) per plant, taking 75-80 days to flower. Outdoor plants must be harvested in mid-November and typically yield relatively low amounts. Experience is needed to grow Australian Blue, as it is susceptible to molds and mildew. Environmental conditions must include dry and sunny moderate temperature environments.
