Black Diamond
Black Diamond
Also known as: Black Diamond OG, Black Diamond Kush
Overview
Black Diamond is an indica-dominant hybrid strain with around 70% indica and 30% sativa genetics that originated in Northern California, a region known for its rich cannabis culture. The consensus is that it's the offspring of Blackberry and Diamond OG, with Diamond OG deriving from the extremely popular OG Kush. This strain has garnered recognition as ideal for patients who need strong medication but still want to be active and sociable.
The strain is notable for being a clone-only variety, as seeds are not available for commercial sale, making it a rare and exclusive find that must be propagated from clippings. Black Diamond sets itself apart with medium to large flowers that have an elongated, almost cylindrical shape and the dense, solid structure characteristic of indica varieties, with pale sage green leaves shot through with pale brown pistils. Some phenotypes also display vibrant streaks of purple, which result from anthocyanin pigments stimulated by cold weather during growing. The buds are remarkably frosted with trichomes and possess a sticky-like structure, giving them an appearance that looks like they belong in a jewellery shop, coated in resin and bearing dazzling hues.

Growing Information
Black Diamond is known to be somewhat high-maintenance to grow and not especially forgiving, with yields generally on the lower side without training techniques. The flowering time ranges from 7-9 weeks (approximately 8 weeks average). Indoor yields average 50-300g/m², while outdoor cultivation can produce 10-12 oz/plant (up to 300g per plant). The strain grows to moderate heights (5-8 feet), making it suitable for indoor grow rooms. It thrives in Mediterranean-like climates with temperatures between 70-80°F (21-27°C). The strain prefers well-draining, organic soil with pH levels between 6.0-6.8. Indoor cultivation adapts well to Sea of Green (SOG) methods. The strain is suitable for both indoor and outdoor growing, preferring warm, dry climates and requiring adequate ventilation and light for optimal growth.
