Black Widow Auto
Black Widow Auto
Also known as: Black Widow Autoflower, Black Widow Automatic
Overview
Black Widow Auto is an autoflowering version of the legendary Black Widow strain, created by crossing the original Black Widow with a Lowryder (Ruderalis) strain. The original Black Widow genetics are Brazilian Sativa x South Indian Indica, making this a hybrid with autoflowering capabilities. The parent Black Widow strain was created in the 1990s by renowned breeder Shantibaba and won the 1995 High Times Cannabis Cup under the name White Widow. When the original breeders parted ways, Shantibaba kept the parent plants and renamed his creation Black Widow. The autoflowering version maintains the potency and characteristics of its legendary parent while offering the convenience of automatic flowering without requiring light schedule changes. Plants reach a compact height of 70 to 100cm, making them suitable for discreet cultivation both indoors and outdoors. The flowers are typical bright green with purple highlights and bright reddish-orange hairs, with some plants developing stunning black, purple, and red pistils during late flowering. The buds are rock hard, soaked in resin and often have a crystalline sheen due to the amount of trichomes.

Growing Information
Black Widow Auto is classified as easy to grow, being resistant to pests, mold, and mildew, and thrives in a range of environments—ideal for beginners. The autoflower cycle takes 8–10 weeks flowering plus initial growth, approximately 10 to 12 weeks from seed to harvest. Plants offer a remarkably fast flowering period of 70 to 80 days from germination. Indoor grows generate 250-450g per square meter, while outdoor grows yield 300-400g per plant. Plants stay compact at 1-4 feet tall, ideal for indoor and outdoor growing. They're suitable for soil or hydroponics, and work well with SCROG or SOG setups to maximize yield. Lighting should be consistent 18/6 or 24/0 throughout with no need for light cycle changes. Plants thrive under stable temperature and humidity conditions. The plant has qualities that naturally battle mold and mildew which makes it good as an indoor plant even if humidity is high.
