Bloodhound
Also known as: Blood Hound
Bloodhound Strain Overview
Bloodhound is a well-balanced indica-dominant marijuana strain bred by RedEyed Genetics. Bloodhound is a cross of both our first generations of Huckleberry Hound and Guard Dawg. The genetic blending of Bloodhound is said to be motivated by the desire to pass on the tartness and rich foliage of Huckleberry Hound and the potency of Guard Dawg. In doing so, they've managed a THC level that reaches above 24% on average.
This rare and potent strain displays distinctive characteristics inherited from both parent strains. The flavor palate of this dense and resinous flower is somewhat all over the place, with tart fruit and chocolate overtones and skunky, almost dirt-like undertones. Bloodhound has popcorn-shaped dark olive green nugs with thin, light amber hairs. Expect to see more than half of your females expressing color in content hues of pink, red and purple.
Mellow in nature and a breeder favorite, this super obscure indica-dominant strain is one that took RedEyed Genetics a lot of elbow grease to get perfect, and boy did they succeed. Inexperienced users may want to steer clear from this rare bud, but for those that have more than one notch on their belt this is a great strain to take for a spin.

Bloodhound Strain Growing Information
Bloodhound has an impressive growth profile. It has thick stems and hardy branches that are not easily fazed by the wind. Instead, it holds its ground and develops a stronger stalk, so it can withstand the elements. Thus, it is an excellent strain to cultivate outdoors where it can grow to its heart's delight without being confined by pots and four walls. Of course, this is not to say that growers should refrain from cultivating the plant indoors. On the contrary, it is highly adaptable and will fare well inside a dedicated tent or grow room. It will need some pruning as it tends to get bushy. Bloodhound is an indica / sativa from RedEyed Genetics and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±60 days). Flowering time 8 to 10 weeks and yield is 12 to 14 ounces. Indoor yields are 10 to 12 ounces of buds per square meter while outdoor yields are typically around 12 ounces of buds per plant. The Bloodhound plant fares best outdoors and can withstand harsh elements, including colder temperatures. But, Bloodhound also does well in indoor setups. Growers will need a pair of pruning shears, as this cultivar tends to grow full and bushy.
