Blowfish
Blowfish
Also known as: Fugu
Overview
Blowfish, also known as Fugu, is an indica-dominant hybrid strain (65% indica/35% sativa) developed by Dutch Flowers in Amsterdam. This strain was created through a complex breeding process involving two carefully selected G13 hybrids: a G13 x Oregon Funk cross was combined with a G13 x Blue Dot cross to improve upon G13's yield and flavor while maintaining its legendary potency. Named after the deadly Japanese delicacy known as fugu fish, Blowfish earned its moniker due to its body-paralyzing yet intensely cerebral effects that can leave users immobilized similarly to the neurotoxin found in the pufferfish. The strain exhibits excellent F1 vigor and disease resistance, making it a hardy plant that avoids many of the undesirable traits associated with 'blue' genetics while maintaining complex flavors and exceptional potency. The buds are characteristically dense and spade-shaped with a minty green coloration, amber undertones, and bright orange pistils, all covered in a thick coating of milky white trichomes that rival the best 'white' strains in crystal coverage.

Growing Information
Blowfish is considered an easier strain to grow than most, making it suitable for both novice and commercial-scale operations due to its hardy genetics and natural resistance to pests and diseases. The strain has a relatively short flowering time of approximately 7-9 weeks (50-60 days) and performs well in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor cultivation yields approximately 16 ounces per square meter, while outdoor plants can produce 16+ ounces per plant when harvested in late September. The plant prefers low nutrient levels and can thrive even under poor conditions, making it a low-maintenance option. Blowfish produces dense, resin-coated buds with excellent trichome production. While yield is considered relatively low compared to some modern hybrids, the exceptional quality and potency of the harvest compensates for quantity.
