Overview

Blue Pearl is an indica dominant hybrid (70% indica/30% sativa) strain created as a cross between the super popular Silver Pearl X Blue Haze strains. Homegrown Fantaseeds' 2001 Cannabis Cup prizewinner, Blue haze, is crossed here with a sweetheart female, the Silver Pearl, to produce an enviable plant. This strain was created with just one thing in mind, the WOW factor. By crossing a specially selected Blue Haze with the extremely potent Silver Pearl our breeders combined all the qualities of those two strains within this successful variety.

Blue Pearl is a tall sativa-like strain with a soft taste and strong high. Blue Pearl nugs have medium-sized light minty green fluffy spade-shaped nugs with a spattering bright orange hairs, beautifully rich gold undertones, and are completely frosty with thick chunky white trichomes and sticky sweet resin. Blue Pearl forms nine cone-like single colas, compact and picture perfect rather than the loose clusters sometimes found with sativas or hazes in particular. The minimal foliage is dark green and the leaflets are skinny and finger-like. Blue Pearl's mother, the Silver Pearl, is a fast finishing sativa, balancing out the super long season usually required for a haze.

Growing Information

Flowering time: 8-9 weeks Outdoor harvest: late October. Flowering time is eight to 10 weeks and yields should be around 350 grams per square metre. Blue Pearl seeds produce tall plants, which stretch to up to two metres, and the leaves are mid to dark green and elongated. Indoors, she grows well as a multi-branch plant, but can be tamed with some effort to fit a sea of green growing style. Unlike many Sativas, you can grow Blue Pearl outdoors in cooler climates. Just make sure to give the plants a sheltered spot that gets plenty of sunshine and harvest will come in mid-October. As a result, this plant can be grown outdoors in a wide belt between 45 degrees North and 45 degrees South. Given the grow characteristics of equatorial plants, this variety produces well, with an average 20-25 grams from a 70 cm (2 foot) plant. Orange-haired buds tend to form in clusters, creating heavy colas which may need support.
