Blueberry Autoflower is an autoflowering version of the legendary photoperiod Blueberry strain originally developed by DJ Short in the 1970s. This strain is a cross between classic Blueberry and cannabis ruderalis, bringing autoflowering genetics to a classic strain. The genetic makeup is approximately 70-80% indica, 20% sativa, and 10% ruderalis, creating an indica-dominant hybrid with fast-flowering capabilities.
The original Blueberry strain traces its lineage to Thai Sativa (known for uplifting effects and fruity flavors), Highland Oaxaca Gold (a Mexican landrace contributing euphoria and clarity), and Afghani Indica (adding dense bud structure and relaxing effects). The autoflowering version maintains these legendary genetics while incorporating ruderalis DNA for automatic flowering. Blueberry won Best Indica at the 2000 High Times Cannabis Cup, establishing its mainstream popularity, and became the foundation for many popular strains including Blue Dream, Blue Cheese, and Blue Cookies.
Blueberry Autoflower plants are compact and manageable, typically growing 50-75cm (20-30 inches) indoors and remaining relatively small outdoors.
