Bluebonik
Bluebonik
Also known as: Blubonik, Blue Bonic
Overview
Bluebonik is an indica-dominant cannabis hybrid developed by Genehtik Seeds, a Spanish seed bank operating from the Basque Country since the 1990s. This strain is the result of crossing Kootenay Blueberry with Blueberry, combining two renowned members of the classic Blueberry family. Genehtik had the privilege of collaborating with Steve from Spice of Life Seeds, a Canadian breeder responsible for some of the most emblematic genetics of the Blue family. The strain represents part of their collection focused on sweet flavors, unique colors, and relaxing effects characteristic of Blueberry genetics.
The plant exhibits typical indica characteristics with medium-sized plants featuring broad, dark leaves and a sturdy structure. During cultivation, Bluebonik forms long, fleshy, and resinous heads during its 8-9 week flowering phase. Its scent is typical of the Blueberry family, sweet and fruity, combining notes of blueberries and other red fruits on a sweet background. One user noted that from a sample, they detected red berries rather than blueberry, with slightly metallic woody undertones, indicating some phenotypic variation within the strain.

Growing Information
Bluebonik can be cultivated indoors and outdoors with a flowering time of approximately 63 days (8-9 weeks). Indoor yields range from 450-500g per m² under proper lighting conditions. Outdoor cultivation can produce over 1000-1300g per plant in ideal conditions, reaching maturity in October in the Northern Hemisphere (April for Southern Hemisphere). The strain is considered moderately easy to grow, producing dense, resinous buds. Available only as feminized seeds from Genehtik Seeds. Plants develop a sturdy structure with broad, dark leaves typical of indica varieties.
