Blush IBL is an inbred line (IBL) strain developed by Whish Seeds and released in 2005, representing the F5 generation of selective breeding work. The strain encompasses both Afghani and Thai genetics through its unique parentage of Berlin (a rare clone-only from Federation Seed Company) crossed with DJ Short's Blue Moonshine, a Blueberry offspring with a rich genetic pool. This indica-dominant variety (90% indica, 10% sativa) is characterized by its blue and purple coloration, which becomes more pronounced in cooler growing conditions.
As an IBL strain, Blush maintains stable, consistent characteristics that breed true to type through open pollination methods. The plant displays earthy, natural, and floral flavors with distinctive blue/purple buds that reflect its Blueberry heritage. Established by Whish Seeds in 2008 as part of their focus on high-quality medicinal strains, Blush IBL was bred specifically to address the lack of therapeutic cannabis varieties in local compassion clubs.
