California Octane
California Octane
Also known as: Cali Octane
Overview
California Octane is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain developed by Humboldt Seed Company in collaboration with Foodoo Farm. This strain was bred by crossing Dream Queen with I-369 and Papaya, creating a powerful hybrid with 60% indica and 40% sativa genetics. Created by Humboldt Seed Company, the strain was developed through extensive phenotype hunting across multiple farms to find the best expression of this genetic combination. The strain exhibits characteristics that resemble its Dream Queen parent, which is itself a cross of Blue Dream and Space Queen known for sweet, fruity flavors and uplifting effects. California Octane produces dense, pyramid-shaped buds with a thick coating of trichomes and displays vibrant green coloration with purple accents that become more pronounced in cooler conditions. The buds feature blocky green structures with purple accents, opaque trichomes, and pale green pistils topped with orange. This strain has gained recognition for its exceptional resin production and distinctive aromatic profile that combines fuel-forward notes with tropical fruit undertones.

Growing Information
California Octane is relatively easy to grow and produces highly potent buds with beautiful aesthetic appeal. The strain has an indoor flowering time of approximately 60 days, with outdoor harvest occurring between October 1st and 15th. This strain is known as a heavy producer with high yields both indoors and outdoors. Plants reach a medium height of 120-150cm indoors, exhibiting sturdy structure and robust growth characteristics. The plant grows like a typical indica-dominant variety with thick fan leaves and a squatty, bushier structure. California Octane responds well to ample fertilizer but can adapt to lower nutrient levels without compromising yield, though growers should avoid over-fertilization. This extremely hardy exotic variety performs well in all climates and grows successfully both indoors and outdoors. With its indica dominance and ability to thrive in various conditions, the strain is suitable for beginners. The plant produces dense, resinous buds with excellent bag appeal and strong trichome coverage even on fan leaves.
