Calypso Fruit is an indica/sativa hybrid strain created by The Grateful Seeds, the result of a multi-year breeding project. This strain is cultivated indoors, outdoors and greenhouse with a flowering time of approximately 58 days, and was developed through years of careful breeding to combine multiple fruit-flavored genetics. The strain's parentage comes from PinePaya (a cross of Papaya with Pineapple Madness by Grateful Seeds) crossed with Banana Gelee (an internal cross of DNA Genetics' Strawberry Banana pollinated with Cannardo Grape Gelee). The PinePaya parent contributes an intense blend of "super rotten fruit terpenes" that are so potent they almost called it "Rotten Fruit," while the Banana Gelee parent adds sweet fruity notes that balance the rotten aspects with grape terpenes and incredible vigor. Calypso Fruit is characterized by medium-sized, very wide plants that produce very big colas with huge production and features "most tropical bowl of fruits" aromas and flavors. The strain has inherited high resin production capabilities, with its Papaya grandmother achieving around 5% hash extraction yields.
