Candy Rain, also known as "The Candy Rain," is an indica dominant hybrid strain (70% indica/30% sativa) created through crossing the powerful London Poundcake X Gelato strains. Candy Rain stems from a breeding project conducted by Cookies Fam, one of the largest and most well-known cannabis companies in the world. Founded by rapper and business entrepreneur Berner and Californian breeder Jai, the seed bank set out with the goal of creating a hard-hitting and flavorful pool of genetics. Since its release, Candy Rain has gained serious traction, and many growers flocked to this strain after its win in the Indoor Flower category at the Oregon Grower's Cup.
This bud has dense grape-shaped bright neon green nugs with lots of thin orange hairs, deep purple undertones and a coating of frosty, tiny white crystal trichomes. Each and every toke is like a rainstorm of sweet fruity candy flavors, with hints of sour citrus to it, too. Thanks to a rich concentration of terpenes, Candy Rain has a super-sweet aroma with bold fruit overtones—a trained nose will pick up on hints of ripe mangoes, bananas, berries, and grapes, as well as subtle, velvety butter undertones. With hardy genetics and a compact size, Candy Rain grows well in a range of indoor and outdoor settings. Under artificial lights in indoor setups, Candy Rain usually peaks at a very manageable 110–130cm. This means it will be suitable for smaller spaces and it's a great choice for growing indoors in general. When harvest time rolls around, which is after 9–10 weeks of flowering, Candy Rain is capable of bringing a respectable 450–550g/m² to the table, provided it's given good care and plenty of love. When exposed to sunshine, this variety can grow taller than indoors, up to 130–150cm. If you give your plants plenty of space, they should be able to produce up to 550g each come harvest time. Although the Candy Rain strain is reasonably easy to grow, you should know about lighting, CO2, humidity, and nutrient management to grow indoors. It responds to various growing techniques, such as topping, low or high-stress training, and defoliation. You'll also see positive results with the SoG and ScroG methods. The strain is considered moderately easy to cultivate and suitable for both novice and experienced growers.
