Chem 4 Auto
Chem 4 Auto
Also known as: Chemdawg 4 Auto, Chemdog 4 Auto
Overview
Chem 4 Auto is an autoflowering version of the legendary Chem 4 strain, created by crossing the original Chem 4 'Reunion' cut with a select Short Stuff #1 autoflowering plant and selectively breeding through multiple generations. This indica-dominant hybrid maintains all the characteristic traits of its photoperiod parent while offering the convenience of automatic flowering. The strain is part of the renowned Chemdog lineage, which traces its origins back to the early 1990s when Chemdog grew seeds obtained at a Grateful Dead concert. Chem 4 specifically comes from the final four seeds that were popped in 2006, with this phenotype being closest to the original and sometimes called the 'Reunion Pheno.' The autoflowering version preserves the intense diesel fuel aroma, pungent citrus notes, and resin-heavy production that made the original famous. Chem 4 Auto produces dense, trichome-covered buds with light green coloration and orange pistils, maintaining the visual appeal and potency of its legendary parent while finishing in just 9-10 weeks from seed.

Growing Information
Chem 4 Auto is considered very easy to grow and suitable for beginners due to its hardy, resilient genetics. The strain shows excellent resistance to pests and diseases, making it a forgiving choice for new growers. Plants typically reach maturity in 9-10 weeks from seed with a flowering time of 70-80 days total. Indoor plants reach moderate heights of 2-4 feet, while outdoor plants can grow taller. The strain thrives in most climates and can recover from moderate stress without becoming stunted. It prefers stable pH levels and proper nutrition. Expected yields are above average for autoflowers, with indoor yields around 450-500g/m² and outdoor yields varying by conditions. The plants develop dense, resinous buds with good bag appeal and maintain the tight, compact structure typical of Chem genetics. Training techniques like LST can be beneficial but are not required due to the strain's naturally good structure.
