This unique cultivar is the result of GeneSeeds having carefully experimented with a variety of different strains to achieve their desired hybrid. They started with a select variety from Uzbekistan, aiming to create a stabilized line that is potent, has copious amount of resin, and retains the inherent and exquisite aroma of Uzbek variety. After extensive selective breeding involving 5 females and 5 males out of 80 grown specimens, breeders finally, after rejecting more than 80 specimens, they found the right one for the pairing—San Fernando Valley OG Kush (SFV OG).

The strain's name is particularly fitting, as this plant completes its cycle totally crystallized thanks to a thick layer of shining and sticky resin. The breeder specifically designed this cross to achieve an exquisite fruity stabilize phenotype detected in several individuals, productive and fully loaded with resin to isolate a mother and to use it as a basis for other crosses. The San Fernando Valley OG Kush parent was selected because it brought more power and could squeeze more buds without losing copious amounts of resin from the Uzbek mother. Crystal Tears represents a carefully crafted indica-dominant hybrid that makes this variety a great choice if you want to make hash, oils, or concentrates due to its exceptional resin production.
