Da Purps is a mostly indica-dominant cannabis strain created by T.H. Seeds through crossing Afghani genetics with Purple Urkle (also known as "Purps"). This strain emerged from a fascinating backstory where T.H. Seeds was 'gifted' this strain from experienced Northern California growers, originally grown from 23-year-old seeds. The original Purps genetics were then crossed with a great Afghani male to create Da Purps, keeping the original spicy flavor of the Purps while adding more resin production. This strain's ancestry boasts the prestigious Afghani, known for its robust structure and sedating effects, and the vibrant Purple Urkle, celebrated for its captivating color and soothing properties. Da Purps exhibits typical indica characteristics with a bushy structure typical of Afghan plants, with medium internodal distances and large, dark leaves that turn purple at the end of flowering if temperatures drop. The strain produces buds with enormous calyxes, completely covered with a dense layer of trichomes, making it highly valued for resin extraction and concentrates.
