Erdbeer x Purpurea is a balanced 50/50 indica-sativa hybrid strain created by crossing two legendary Swiss cannabis genetics: Erdbeerli (Swiss Strawberry) and Purpurea Ticinensis (or Purpura 09). Developed by ACE Seeds for northern European outdoor growers, this strain was specifically created by crossing Erdbeer, a Swiss strain usually available as a clone, with Purpurea Ticinensis, another Swiss variety. The original Erdbeer strain has been a clone-only genetic since about 1994, based in Switzerland where it was once very common and is rumored to have been developed as an industrial strain bred to flower quickly, be mold-resistant and machine harvestable. Purpurea Ticinensis is a Swiss red hemp variety that is the result of eight years of selection work at an altitude of 1300 meters in the Ticino mountains. This blend is perfectly adapted to the harsh Central European climate, is very mold- and disease resistant and can therefore be grown very well outdoors, but even indoors it always offers very good results and hardly needs any fertilizer. The strain's leaves often turn red to purple, making it a visually striking cannabis variety that grew out of two absolute Swiss legends.
