Fruits of Valhalla is a unique F2 hybrid strain developed by Viking Gardens, a small-batch breeding operation located in Western Maine near the top of the Snow Belt in New England. This strain was created from a cross of (StrawNana x Black Cherry Pie F1) x Unicorn Poop F2, where the StrawNana x Black Cherry Pie F1 originally came from MeltyMedz of Maine and was hunted from a pack of Strawberry Rhubarb, selected as a clone from a pack shared between friends due to its notable smell, taste and potency, then crossed with a selected F2 Unicorn Poop from Thug Pug Genetics. The Unicorn Poop F2 used was actually from VEEDUB Genetics of California, not Thug Pug, and Viking Gardens solely selected the male stud and did the breeding to create their first ever photoperiod genetic.

The strain represents the culmination of careful genetic selection and breeding expertise from Viking Gardens, which operates under the philosophy of "breeding for growers by growers" with a focus on hunting and selecting superior genetics. The male Black Cherry Pie F1 component comes from IN House genetics lineage, distinct from the F5 Black Cherry Pie variant. Fruits of Valhalla is THC dominant and was not available as feminized seeds, indicating it follows traditional breeding practices with regular seeds requiring phenotype selection.
