This unique variety is part of a specialized breeding program focused on creating cannabis plants with distinctive morphological characteristics.

The strain's complex lineage includes Giant Pur Pur, which results from crossing a Single Leaflet Landrace strain from the Russian-Chinese border region "Amur" with Indian Summer Duckfoot Strain (a combination of Blueberry F1 x 80's Purple Passion x Mexican Sativa Landrace). The other parent component is AD17, which comes from the SWAG-strain gene pool and carries berry, fruity, fuel, and haze aroma profiles.

Giant Crusader exhibits highly unusual morphological characteristics, with plants resembling common herbs like stinging nettle, basil, lemon balm, or mint, featuring variegated foliage in approximately 30% of specimens. The branches produce thick, chunky, frosty buds with purple hues. The strain predominantly develops honey, hash, wood, haze, and berry aromas, traits specifically selected from its parental lines.
