Gold Bar Kush Strain Overview

Gold Bar Kush has been developed by dedicated cannabis breeders who decided to mix Medical Kush with Orange Bud, creating an indica-dominant hybrid (60% indica, 40% sativa) from Spliff Seeds, a company founded in 1995 in Amsterdam. The plants grew quickly and were very stable, so breeders selected the most productive vigorous female and backcrossed the F1 seeds with the Medical Kush male to create the second generation seeds, which was used as a basis for stabilizing the strain over several generations.

This strain represents a successful attempt to produce a strain with the strength of kush but also with an exotic orange citrus flavour. Using a Medical Kush male, breeders turned the dank lemon scent to a sharper citrus orange one. The buds feature bright green colors with big orange hairs and exhibit Indica-style bud formation, with a structure that resembles skunk but with an earthy kush and citrus smell. Indoors, Gold Bar Kush reaches 110-130cm in stature and finishes its flowering cycle in 9-10 weeks, yielding 400-500g/m², while outdoor growers can expect plants to reach 150-200cm and generate 450-500g/plant, with harvest occurring between September and October.

Gold Bar Kush Strain Growing Information

Gold Bar Kush grows tall and only stops gaining height in the fourth week of flowering, so scrogging is highly advised. The leaf structure is thin when compared to other kush strains, and she takes a little longer than most to flower, finishing in around 65 days (9-10 weeks). She can take a lot of nutrients but can also grow well without heavy feeding. Gold Bar Kush is very stable with regular internode spacing, allowing her to pack on frosty buds all the way down. Plants can reach heights between 120-150 cm with improved yield and bud structure compared to its parents. Harvesting these buds is very easy, with bud structure resembling skunk but maintaining an earthy kush and citrus smell. The strain can handle a lot of stress and will fight back, making it relatively forgiving for growers. Both indoor and outdoor cultivation are suitable, with outdoor plants requiring harvesting between September and October.
