Gorilla Glue Strain Overview

Gorilla Glue #4 (GG4) was created by Joesy Whales and Lone Watie of GG Strains through a three-way cross of Chem's Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. It earned its name from the ultra-sticky resin that often gums up scissors during harvest. The creation process of Gorilla Glue was unintentional, as growers were not aiming to give birth to a new cannabis strain; however, nature had other plans. Taking first place in both the Michigan and Los Angeles 2014 Cannabis Cups as well as the High Times Jamaican World Cup, this multiple award-winning strain's supremacy is no longer a secret.

GG4 is an Indica-dominant hybrid that is a cross between multiple strains – Chem's Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel, with genetics of 37% sativa and 63% indica. It has been described as a bunch of trichomes with a few buds, leaves, and stalks sticking out. GG4 is known for its tightly packed buds covered in frosty trichomes, accented by orange pistils and deep green sugar leaves. The aroma is very strong and is mostly diesel with notes of chocolate and coffee, although sweet and earthy is also used to describe it. Due to a trademark dispute with the makers of Gorilla Glue adhesive, many brands now list it as "Original Glue." This strain has become one of the most influential cultivars of the past decade and has been used as the genetic backbone for many other popular strains.
