Hollands Hope Strain Overview
Hollands Hope was one of the first cannabis varieties designed for tough outdoor conditions. In the early 1980s, Holland's Hope was created by White Label Seed Company, a partner breeder of Sensi Seeds, and named for her ability to produce excellent results in a wet and unpredictable summer, giving hope to Holland's outdoor growers. The strain is descended from Afghanistan (Indica) and Skunk (Sativa) genetics, with Positronics having developed this strain specifically to survive the wet summers in Holland. The TV series 'Hollands Hoop' was a Dutch TV drama series featuring Dutch Passion Hollands Hope. The series takes place around a Dutch cannabis plantation and was broadcast every Saturday on channel NPO 1 in 2014.
Hollands Hope is a powerful Indica, fully adapted to the varied Dutch climate. It is a strong and reliable outdoor variety with a high resistance to fungi. The strain has a wonderful 'old school' touch, with a scent that can best be described as fresh and fruity with heavier notes of pine and wood. In terms of taste, it is slightly tart and woody with a spicy undertone. The plant produces large and sturdy flowers, with dense blooms of 30-50cm being no exception. In some cases the plant grows up with a classic Christmas tree structure, with the lower branches and flowers just about as thick as the upper ones.

When growing Hollands Hope growers can expect to see a flowering time of around 8 weeks in total, with plants reaching anywhere between 1 and 2 metres in height. Harvest time typically occurs around the end of September and the beginning of October. The yields from this strain vary greatly and are highly dependant on the growing conditions. Harvests can range from anywhere between a modest 100g per plant to a gigantic 1000g per plant. The strain should be grown outdoors as it can reach heights of over 180 cm. It is highly resistant to mold and pests. This strain does not require any special attention and can also serve perfectly as a 'guerrilla strain'.
