Homewrecker is a hybrid cannabis strain that exists in multiple versions from different breeders. The most well-documented version is bred by TCVG Shit, created as a genetic cross between KULT and Gorilla Grape. This strain is an evenly balanced hybrid consisting of 50% sativa and 50% indica genetics. The KULT parent strain itself is a cross of ULT (an unknown sativa hybrid) and Sinister Kush, created in 2008 as one of TCVG Shit's foundational breeding strains. The Gorilla Grape parent, specifically the 'Kong' phenotype, contributes to the strain's indica-dominant characteristics.

Homewrecker was developed with multiple phenotypes identified during breeding, including three notable variants called Ilean, CandyCane, and Maude. These different phenotypes led to the creation of distinct versions - V1 and V2 - with V1 utilizing all three phenotypes and V2 focusing specifically on the CandyCane phenotype. The strain produces dense, resinous buds typical of indica-dominant hybrids and requires careful attention to air circulation during cultivation due to its tendency to produce large, dense flower clusters that may be susceptible to bud rot. Another version exists from Bred by 42, created from Ellon OG and Sour Sage OG genetics, though this appears to be a different strain sharing the same name.
