Honeydew
Honeydew
Also known as: Honey Dew
Overview
The Honeydew strain, a sativa-dominant hybrid, emerges from a carefully selected crossbreed of Dirty Old SOG Super Silver Haze and Appalachia, combining their distinct genetic traits to offer a unique cannabis experience. This genetic lineage thoroughly merges the robust, energetic sativa effects from Super Silver Haze with the soothing, earthy notes of Appalachia, creating a balanced yet mainly sativa profile. Honeydew features a 70% sativa and 30% indica blend, offering a more sativa-heavy experience compared to Appalachia's more balanced hybrid nature. This bud has oversized tapered spade-shaped minty green nugs with lots of vivid orange hairs and a coating of golden-white crystal trichomes. Like its namesake fruit, Honeydew packs a sweet and fruity melon flavor with hints of hazy flowers, fresh berries and woody pine, too. The aroma is just as delicious, almost like a bowl of freshly cut melon, berries and fruits in a woody bowl with a touch of hazy earthiness. Multiple variations of this strain exist from different breeders, including versions from Whish Seeds (Cinderella 99 x Mazar-I-Sharif) and Clearwater Genetics (Devil Driver x Guava Gelato), though the Super Silver Haze x Appalachia cross is most widely recognized in dispensaries.

Growing Information
This strain is considered easy to grow as it adapts well to indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse environments. However, it tends to grow medium/tall and lanky, so make sure to provide support for the colas. The flowering time for the Honeydew Strain is 8 to 9 weeks, a critical period for growers to plan their grow cycle, particularly in regions with shorter growing seasons. If the grower chooses to grow Honeydew cannabis indoors, the plant will reach about 30-60 inches in height. Height outdoor is around 60-80 inches. Growers are happy with their harvest because, under indoor conditions, a grower will get an average of 400 g/m², and when grown outdoors, they will get up to 550 g/plant. While Honeydew is able to tolerate both warm and cool climates, it requires until the end of October or early November to finish outdoors and is not recommended for growers in the North. The Honeydew Strain adapts well to various growing techniques, making it suitable for different setups. Methods like topping and low-stress training (LST) help control plant growth and boost yields, especially in smaller spaces.
