Humboldt Afghani V2 is an indica-dominant hybrid strain (60%+ indica) developed by Twenty20 Mendocino with genetics derived from (Humboldt Afghani x Strawberry Blonde) x (Humboldt Afghani x Snow-G). This strain was created after the original Humboldt Afghani was retired due to genetic defect issues. The breeders outcrossed the original afghani with multiple cultivars during the 2022 outdoor season, and selected plants that leaned heavily towards afghani characteristics in flavor, smell and effects. The original genetics trace back to seeds collected from Afghanistan in the 1970s by a collector who traveled there specifically for strain hunting. This variety represents the classic purple indicas and purple kush strains that were common in Northern California's Emerald Triangle during the 1980s and 1990s. The strain exhibits low phenotypic variation and ripens to a deep purple color, with heavy yields and distinctive aromatic qualities resembling sour fruit, skunk and artificial candy flavoring.
