Icy Grape is a hybrid cannabis strain developed by Copa Genetics, a breeding company with over 30 years of selective breeding experience. The strain is a cross between Purple Zkittlez (SMMJ cut) and 1996 Black Domina from Sensi Seeds. Copa Genetics has been selectively breeding cannabis for over 30 years, traveling to Amsterdam in the late 80's and through the 90's on genetic excursions and working with most of the early, original, classic cultivars. The mother plant, Purple Skittles (SMMJ cut) is described as an extremely beautiful plant that was exciting to have access to for breeding stock. The father genetics come from four Black Domina males that lean to the Afghani side with stem rubs ranging from dank and musty to sweaty locker room funk/skunk, all bringing extremely tight/dense buds with tight node spacing.

Physically, Icy Grape grows as a squat, bushy plant with tight node spacing and dark green overlapping leaves. The strain is notably short, often requiring elevation during cultivation to match the height of other plants. The buds grow round and large compared to stem size, becoming darker toward the end of flower with touches of purple, and branches often cannot support the heavy buds. This phenotype is known for having the stickiest and most dynamic flavor profile, with dense buds delivering a complex aroma and flavor that is difficult to describe.
