Laos Vientiane Province
Also known as: Lao Vientiane, Central Lao, Laos/Vientiane Province
Laos Vientiane Province Strain Overview
Laos Vientiane Province is a sativa from Indian Landrace Exchange and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors. This is an authentic cannabis landrace from Vientiane Province, Central Laos, along the stretch of the Mekong that produced the famed bud of the late 60s and early 70s heyday of Thai Stick. Prior to the late '60s, ganja cultivated in ethnically Lao northern Isan (NE Thailand) and Vientiane Province originally fed demand from what was the main urban centre of the region, the Lao capital, Vientiane.
Central Laos in particular still holds an array of ganja domesticates – highly diverse in morphology, aroma, and effect. And ganja itself – the product and the associated culture, inside both Laos and Thailand – without a doubt is most closely associated with the ethnic Lao. Being located close to the Equator (19.85 °N) Cannabis varieties from Flat to semi- Highlands flower very long in a wet humid Environment. However In Laos The Humidity always keeps above 60% mark and an over all above 70% Annual average. Ganja Farmers have done a better job here compared to other Southeast Asian countries. As per one of the long time farmers – they try to eradicate as much wild cannabis as they can from in and around their domesticated fields to lower down the extent of wild-domesticated cross pollination, along with the males from domesticated population which is not a common occurrence in Southeast Asian cannabis regions. As a result, the flowers grow with fewer seeds and have a larger girth compared to Thai, Cambodian, Vietnamese and Burma, which all flower for the same duration in a similar wet tropical climate.
