Lazy Hippie Strain Overview

Lazy Hippie is a sativa-indica hybrid cannabis strain created by Mandala Seeds as a cross between Speed Queen and Early Heirloom Sativa. This low-maintenance strain was lovingly crafted for maximum enjoyment and represents another excellent addition to the Mandala Seeds outdoor-north collection. The strain gets its amusing name from a 2022 incident when a troll called the breeders "lazy hippies" for closing their shop over summer, which the founders found hilarious and adopted as the perfect name for their new breeding project. The strain is described as an heirloom quality cultivar that pays tribute to the cannabis counterculture movement and the legacy of "lazy hippies" who revolutionized cannabis breeding and conservation. Lazy Hippie features two distinct phenotypes: the 'Majoon' phenotype (named after a Moroccan cannabis edible) which follows Speed Queen's denser, shorter growth pattern with orange pistils, and the 'Joplin' phenotype which is more sativa-leaning with stunning lime-green and ivory colored pistils described as the longest the breeders have ever seen on a cannabis plant. Both phenotypes produce super frosty buds covered in glistening trichomes, with golf ball-sized buds even at the bottom of plants.

Lazy Hippie Strain Growing Information

Lazy Hippie is suitable for indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse cultivation. Indoor flowering time is 65-75 days with yields of 400-500 gr/m² under organic conditions. Outdoor harvest occurs in late September to mid-October depending on location, with yields exceeding 850+ grams per plant. The strain is particularly adapted for colder climates and northern latitudes, making it one of the few sativa hybrids suitable for short seasons. It has exceptional temperature tolerance, tested up to 48°C/118°F heat and -3°C/27°F cold. The strain thrives in organic soil with minimal nutrients, making it economical and ideal for guerrilla growing. It grows well under low light conditions but performs best with 400W/m² HPS during flowering. SCROG and low-stress training techniques work well, especially with the 'Joplin' phenotype which produces longer colas. Plant height is medium-tall with low odor during flowering, making it ideal for stealthy cultivation.
