Lebanese Hashplant

Sativa

Also known as: Lebanese Landrace, Blonde Lebanese, Lebanese Sativa

Lebanese Hashplant Strain Overview

Lebanese Hashplant is a rare and renowned landrace variety responsible for producing the world-famous red and blonde Lebanese hash. Originating from the mountains above the ancient city of Baalbek, Lebanon (known as Heliopolis during the reign of Alexander the Great), this undiluted cultivar has adapted to a very inhospitable environment. This particular Lebanese accession has notable pedigree, originating in one of the most renowned mountain regions above Bekaa Valley, which is traditionally where the finest Lebanese hashish has been produced. Bekaa Valley has been a major centre of commercial hashish production for export since the early 20th century. Afghan seeds are said to have been introduced to Bekaa in 1974.

Lebanese plants are typically compact and early maturing. Deep-red or purple colouration can show during senescence. Two main architectures can be found: Columnar plants grow to one central stem with minimal branching and are well-suited to breeding advanced industrial crops. Heavily branched phenotypes are often near-spherical (e.g., 90 by 90 cm). Another notable trait is that Lebanese begins blooming extremely early, with the first signs of inflorescences emerging in late June to early July. This gives Lebanese a mid-September harvest window for northern growers, which is nearly unheard of in a long-flowering, narrow-leaf sativa like this. Relative to other hashish domesticates, CBD can be exhibited in exceptionally high double-digit quantities in some individuals. This lebanese strain consistently produces CBD quantities between 6 and 16%.

Lebanese Hashplant Strain Growing Information

Special considerations are required when growing Lebanese Hashplant. First, we do not recommend growing these plants indoors. As a landrace variety, they are adapted to the outdoors and natural sunlight. Lebanese Hashplant can be cultivated indoors and outdoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±55 days). Flowering indoors: 9-11 weeks, Flowering outdoors: End of September / Early October, Yield: Average-High. Remarkably drought- and heat-tolerant, Lebanese Hashplant was put to the test during the hottest summer on record here in British Columbia, Canada. With sustained temperatures of 44°C (111°F), the Lebanese plants didn't bat an eye, while all other cultivars in our garden wilted from the scorching sun that year. Height: 0.5 – 1.5 metres. The strain shows excellent resistance to heat and drought but may exhibit semi-autoflowering tendencies.
