Lemon Cherry Gelato
Lemon Cherry Gelato
Also known as: LCG, Lemon Cherry Gelato BPB Cut
Overview
Lemon Cherry Gelato is a slightly indica-dominant hybrid strain (60% indica/40% sativa) created through crossing Sunset Sherbet X Girl Scout Cookies X another unknown strain. Originally popularized by Backpackboyz, this strain became an almost instant hit across the US in late 2019 after being sold at a Cookies dispensary in Los Angeles, and has since become a household name across the US and Canada. In 2021, the strain won 2nd Place in the Medical Category at the High Times Medical Cup in Michigan. The strain exhibits small buds made up of tightly packed calyxes, each covered in a thick layer of trichomes and dotted with golden pistils, with potential for beautiful purple hues when grown under specific conditions. The buds display a kaleidoscope of colors, featuring rich purples, vibrant greens, and deep oranges, all covered in a frosty layer of trichomes. While the true origin reveals it's actually a bagseed cultivated by Cannatique and strategically renamed to avoid legal conflicts with Runtz brand owners, the strain has established itself as one of the foundational genetics of modern premium cannabis.

Growing Information
Growing Lemon Cherry Gelato is considered to be hard and produces a medium yield. Flowering time is 8-9 weeks. Indoors, plants grow to 90-110cm in height and can produce up to 600g/m², while outdoor plants can reach up to 1.4 meters tall and yield up to 1kg per plant. The indoor flowering duration is around 60-65 days, with outdoor harvest typically around mid-October. This strain thrives in a temperate climate with daytime temperatures between 70-80°F (21-27°C), dropping slightly at night. Maintaining a stable environment helps prevent mold, mildew, or plant stress. The strain is considered moderately easy to grow and resilient to pests and mold, though it shows sensitivity to humidity levels during flowering.
