Portofino is a limited edition indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain created by Aficionado French Connection through a complex genetic crossing between Cherry Noir #18, Black Lime Reserve #9, and Zkittles BX1. This strain was designed in 2017 but only entered the market two years later after the genetics were patented and perfected. The strain was carefully developed through a dense American crossing system to achieve its unique characteristics.

Physically, Portofino produces well-branched plants that are perfectly suited to SCROG or supercropping cultivation techniques, with an indoor flowering period of 9 weeks and outdoor harvests occurring between late September and early October. The plants can yield up to 500g per m² indoors. It exhibits strong vigorous growth and secondary ramification, making it suitable for all types of cultivation, even greenhouses with less light intensity. The strain is characterized by its distinctive aromatic profile that combines notes of wine and red fruits with a chemical background of fuel and lime undertones, featuring fermented grape juice aromas with petroleum notes.
