This strain represents a backcross (BX1) of Copa Genetics' Project 25 F1 crossed back with Fast Pink F2, creating a stabilized version that emphasizes the desirable traits of the original Project 25 line. The original Project 25 was created as an F1 cross between Iranian OG (from a worked line Copa has maintained since the 1990s) and Hazeman's Fast Pink, two distinct genetic backgrounds that contribute complementary characteristics.

The strain was specifically developed to achieve super-fast outdoor finishing times while maintaining pest and mold resistance, along with a unique terpene profile. Project 25 Bx1 inherits the Iranian OG lineage's potency and 'stony' effects, combined with the rapid flowering characteristics from the Fast Pink genetics. The backcrossing process aims to recover approximately 75% of the recurrent parent's (Project 25) genome while retaining beneficial traits from the Fast Pink donor parent, resulting in more consistent phenotypic expression and enhanced outdoor performance.
