The strain's genetics trace back to Hawaiian origins through its Puna Budder parent, which itself is a hybrid combining Hawaiian and Afghani landrace genetics. There is no one "Puna Haze" and chances are it was grown in Puna, Hawaii, which is the reason for the Puna in its name. Puna haze originated from Hawaii, which was a melting pot of strains with almost every type known to man at the time, making it just one variety of haze from Puna that is certainly a hybrid with some indica influence, as most Hawaiian strains do.
