Purple Dashti
Also known as: Purple Dasht, Deep Purple Dashti
Purple Dashti Strain Overview
Purple Dashti is a first generation pure indica landrace from Dasht, Balochistan, Pakistan. The Dasht region is a series of mountains, skirts and secluded valleys at the outskirts of Quetta, characterized by extremely dry desert climate with almost no rains through warmer months and precipitation primarily in the form of snow during winters. Indian Landrace Exchange worked with a skilled farmer from this region known for his beautiful purple/red plants and for producing hash of acute effects. The strain was selected to maintain full genetic diversity of the farm, resulting in a wide variety of different purple plants that provide a comprehensive view of this landrace strain.
Purple Dashti plants express lucid colors on leaves and floral bracts alike, with colorful undersides of the leaves being one of the typical features of this strain. In a 10 seed run, there will be plants that structurally resemble tall narrow leaf varieties or their regional landrace variety, and others expressing short compact frames reminiscent of fully domesticated varieties from higher latitude regions. Local farmers have historically imported varieties from higher latitude regions such as Afghanistan and Uzbekistan to amalgamate with their regional landrace strains to achieve shorter flowering, compact plants with higher concentrations of cannabinoids and terpenes. Balochistan's cannabis culture has legendary status, with the province bordered by Afghanistan and Iran, creating significant cultural traffic and agricultural exchange.
