Purple Headband
Purple Headband
Also known as: Royal Purple Headband
Overview
Purple Headband is a 50/50 hybrid strain that combines the famous Headband with an unknown "purple" hybrid, resulting in dense pink and purple flowers covered in greenish trichomes. The genetic lineage of Purple Headband is rooted in the crossbreeding of Headband and an undisclosed purple strain, resulting in its distinctive coloration and flavor profile. This modern West Coast hybrid marries the high-octane lift of Headband with the grape-toned calm of a classic purple cultivar. In most markets, it's described as a cross of Headband (OG Kush x Sour Diesel) with Purple Urkle or Purple Kush, yielding a colorful, resin-rich flower. As breeders sought to fuse high-impact fuel aromas with dessert-like purple terps, crosses between Headband and Purple Urkle/Purple Kush began to circulate across NorCal around the mid-2010s. It often produces a strong fruity aroma with just a hint of gasoline, and a similar flavor with undertones of pine. The high has been likened to that of Headband: uplifting yet relaxing with a warm, fuzzy pressure that gradually creeps from your temples across your forehead. Purple Headband is a showpiece strain when grown and finished well. The buds are typically dense and golf-ball to cola-sized, with top colas reaching 10–20 cm in length on trained plants. Purple Headband has minty green buds with an equal amount of purple highlights. It has burnt red pistils and white trichomes which make it a very colorful and contrasting strain.

Growing Information
Growing Purple Headband is an endeavor well-suited for both novice and experienced cultivators. They thrive well both indoors and outdoors. However, indoor cultivation requires a controlled setting for optimal growth. These plants typically grow to a medium height, offering up a yield of 1-2 ounces per square foot, depending on growing conditions. The best conditions for Purple Headband to thrive are temperatures within the range 70-80°F along with moderate humidity levels. The average flowering time for the Purple Headband strain is about 9 to 10 weeks. Indoors, expect 450–550 g/m² in a traditional SOG and 550–650 g/m² in a dialed-in SCROG under modern LEDs. Outdoors, with 6–8+ hours of direct sun and strong soil, 600–1,000+ g per plant is attainable, finishing in mid to late October in Mediterranean climates. Purple Headband is an mostly indica from Loud Seeds and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±67 days) Loud Seeds's Purple Headband is/was never available as feminized seeds. Flower Cycle: 9-10 Weeks Indica 60/40.
