Purple Satellite

Sativa

Purple Satellite Strain Overview

Purple Satellite is a pure sativa strain developed by Green Mountain Seeds and bred by Vermontman. This strain is a cross of two pure inbred lines: Oaxacan Gold Sativa kept pure since 1979 and a high altitude pure Nepalese Sativa from the highland mountains of Baglung, Nepal. The Nepalese parent was specifically adapted to Denmark for northern latitude cultivation. Purple Satellite is recognized as one of the earliest, highest quality pure sativas available to northern growers, finishing mid to late September when UV-rich sun is still strong for optimal trichome production.

Plants are extremely consistent from seed due to stable lineage and most look like clones. Almost all plants develop pink to fuchsia pistils and purple calyxes even without cold periods. The aroma starts as seriously strong cherry in mid to late bloom, then develops into a complex fragrance of pine, incense with a touch of berry that carries into very smooth smoke. The strain shows remarkable cold, mold, and rain resistance, making it ideal for challenging northern climates.

Purple Satellite Strain Growing Information

Purple Satellite finishes mid to late September for outdoor cultivation when UV-rich sun is still strong. Indoor flowering time is approximately 9-10 weeks or 70 days. For indoor growing, lights should be gradually reduced starting at 14/10 for three weeks, then 13/11 for three weeks, then 12/12 to finish. Especially recommended for outdoor growing in cold and wet northern climates up to 50°N. Plants have great mold and disease resistance but require reduced nutrients starting early flowering. Moderate nutrients needed during vegetative growth, stronger feeding during flowering. Expected yield can reach 550g/m² indoors. Plants grow to medium-tall height and are considered moderately easy to cultivate.
