Queso

Hybrid

Also known as: Kiss, Queso Perro, Cheese Dawg, Dawg Cheese

Queso Strain Overview

Released in 2011 by Kannabia Seeds, a Spanish seed bank, the hybrid strain named Queso is Cheese in the Spanish language. A fitting name since it is descended from the well known UK Cheese - a strain Kannabia decided to continue to breed after it's success in the British market. They received a clone from some British travelers in the 1990s, which according to the travelers was a clone of a mother that was selected for its particularly intense Cheese smells and flavors. To increase the plants lower yields they crossed it with Mazar-i-Sharif and then crossed the resulting plant back with the original Cheese clone. Queso, also known as "Kiss," is an indica dominant hybrid (65% indica/35% sativa) strain created through a cross of the heavy Cheese X Afghani strains. Queso has a creamy buttery cheese flavor that takes a spicy dank turn on exhale that can leave you coughing. The smell, or should I say stench, is pretty overpowering, filling any room with pungent rotting cheese and sour skunk seconds after you open your jug. This stench is made worse as you break apart each tiny minty green nug and smoke it. The Queso high creeps up on you a few minutes after you finish coughing up a lung, suddenly taking hold of your mind with slightly stoney euphoria. You'll feel lifted in both mind and body, before your body gets pulled back down to Earth with a buzzy body high. This high won't cause you to become couch-locked, but you will start to get pretty sleepy as it begins to fade.

Queso Strain Growing Information

As a product of the world-renowned Kannabia Seeds, it should come as no surprise that Queso is a strain with a great growth profile. Not only is it compact, it is also quite sturdy. In fact, its thick stalks and branches can withstand harsh winds that may sometimes come its way. Queso (aka Kiss) is an indica / sativa from Kannabia Seeds and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±55 days). Flowering cycle: 55 days Medium height: from 50 cm Production: 450 gr/m2 Harvest: 4a week September Medium height: 180 - 200 cm Production: 400 gr/plant. After flowering for about 7 to 9 weeks, it produces up to 16 ounces of buds per square meter. Harvest usually comes around the last week of September to the middle of October, or a week early. Each plant yields at least 18 ounces of tasty smelling buds. Kannabia recommends this strain to growers of any level, stating that as long as the plants are not over fertilized growers are nearly guaranteed a good harvest. Queso requires at least seven weeks but for the best yield it should be given a full eight.
