Rain Bird is a carefully crafted F4 hybrid cannabis strain developed by breeder Dos Rios Dylan in collaboration with Aficionado Seed Collection. This strain represents four generations of selective breeding, resulting in exceptional genetic stability and consistency. Named after its early-finishing characteristics that allow it to be harvested before the late September rains that typically affect Northern California outdoor grows, Rain Bird was specifically designed as a production strain for commercial cultivators seeking reliable, high-quality genetics with an August harvest window. The strain features a complex lineage combining (Covelo Sour Diesel x B9) with (Forum Girl Scout Cookies x Jahgoo), where the B9 parent represents a pure Afghan landrace variety that was brought to Northern California in the early 1970s and stabilized in the Covelo area throughout the 1980s. This breeding project was undertaken by Dylan, who is also the founder of Waska, one of California's oldest edible companies, based in the Dos Rios/Covelo region. Rain Bird exhibits medium-sized plant structure with stout, resilient characteristics and exceptional frost production, making it well-suited for both indoor and outdoor cultivation environments.
