Rainbow Kush
Rainbow Kush
Also known as: Rainbow, Rainbow Bud
Overview
Rainbow Kush is a visually striking hybrid cannabis strain that has captured attention for its vibrant, multicolored appearance and balanced effects. The strain exists in multiple phenotypes from different breeders, with the most prominent versions coming from Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds (AMS), who created their Rainbow Kush by crossing Master Kush, Hindu Kush, and Montel's Pride, and from Lifetime Seeds in Spain, who bred theirs by crossing Blueberry with Dancehall. The strain gets its name from the spectacular array of colors displayed during flowering, including neon greens, purples, blues, yellows, and orange pistils that create a rainbow-like appearance. These colors become more pronounced toward the end of the flowering period, making it one of the most photogenic strains available. The buds are typically dense and covered in a thick layer of white trichomes, indicating high cannabinoid content. Rainbow Kush has gained popularity among both recreational and medical users for its balanced hybrid effects and unique aesthetic appeal.

Growing Information
Rainbow Kush is considered relatively easy to grow, making it suitable for both novice and experienced cultivators. The strain can be grown both indoors and outdoors, with indoor plants typically reaching 24-36 inches in height while outdoor plants can grow up to 12 feet. The flowering period is 8-10 weeks (60-70 days), with some autoflowering versions completing in 63-70 days. Indoor yields range from 400-450 grams per square meter (up to 750g/m² with optimal conditions), while outdoor yields can reach 500-750 grams per plant. The strain prefers warm, Mediterranean-like climates with temperatures around 70-75°F and medium humidity during vegetation, reduced to 30-40% during flowering. Sea of Green (SOG) cultivation method is recommended for best results. Plants show good resistance to common issues but require proper airflow to prevent mold and mildew.
