Remo Chemo

Hybrid

Also known as: UBC Chemo x Bubba Kush

Remo Chemo Strain Overview

Remo Chemo is an indica-dominant hybrid strain developed through collaboration between Dinafem Seeds and the legendary Canadian cannabis grower Urban Remo. The strain is the result of crossing an elite clone of UBC Chemo with a regular Bubba Kush male, then backcrossed (S1 or Selfed) to preserve its desirable characteristics. UBC Chemo, according to legend, was developed at the University of British Columbia in the early 1970s to help alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients.

Remo Chemo exhibits classic indica-dominant characteristics with a compact, squat growth pattern typical of indica genetics. The plant displays dense growth with dark green leaves that turn reddish to purple during flowering, creating an attractive visual appearance. The buds are roundish, compact, and densely covered with trichomes, producing golf ball-sized, round, uniform and compact flowers with remarkable density and resin production. The strain has gained significant recognition in the cannabis community, winning multiple awards including first place at cannabis cups (Expogrow Cup and Karma Cup) in 2017 and additional victories in 2018.

Remo Chemo Strain Growing Information

Remo Chemo grows compact and squat with typical indica genetics, responds well to pruning and training, and is resistant to dry climates. It's not a greedy or thirsty plant but requires adequate hydration to optimize production. Indoor flowering time is 65-70 days with yields rarely exceeding 500g per m² indoors, while outdoor cultivation can produce up to 1kg per plant with harvest in mid-October. The strain thrives in dry environments with intense light, and thanks to its Bubba Kush heritage, lack of water is not problematic. Growers should avoid overfeeding as this can be detrimental to flavor intensity. The plant is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation and responds well to training techniques like SCROG and Sea of Green methods.
