S.A.G.E., standing for Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium, is a legendary hybrid cannabis strain developed by T.H.Seeds in the early 1990s through the collaboration of Adam Dunn and Mojave Richmond. The strain was created by crossing Big Sur Holy Weed (a special Haze variety grown at a monastery in California's Big Sur region) with a robust Afghani landrace male. Despite its name suggesting balance, S.A.G.E. is predominantly sativa-dominant, delivering the best of both indica and sativa genetics in a carefully crafted equilibrium.
The strain gained international recognition through numerous Cannabis Cup victories, including multiple awards between 1998-2001, with its hash taking first place in 2000 and the flower earning second place in blind taste tests.
