Sheberghan is an authentic Afghan landrace cannabis strain originating from the city of Sheberghan in the Jowzjan Province of northern Afghanistan. Cannabis crops in Sheberghan were scientifically documented as early as 1924 by the great Russian botanist and geneticist Nikolai Vavilov, establishing its deep historical roots in the region's cannabis culture. Sheberghan was a settlement along the ancient Silk Road. The region is multicultural and has a rich history, and Sheberghan is an ethnically Uzbek region, linking it to the historic centres of cannabis culture to its north in Bukhara. Landrace Genetics personally collected seeds in the Jowzjan Province near the city of Sheberghan in 2018, and these genetics have been preserved and refined by various breeders including Khalifa Genetics.

As a true indica landrace, Sheberghan exhibits the classic characteristics of northern Afghan hashplant varieties. As is typical of northern Afghan cannabis strains, this Sheberghan landrace is large-leaved, resinous, compact and heavily branched. This easy to grow, beginner-friendly strain is a true Hash Plant landrace producing leafy buds covered in sticky trichomes. The plants display remarkable genetic diversity, with potency varies according to the phenotype. Therefore, the high can go from being mild to being quite powerful. Many plants become colourful towards the end of their flowering cycle. Some turn purple, some black, and others are reddish or purple.
