Overview
Sherbert, also known as "Sherbet", "Sherbert OG", "Sunset Sherbet", and "Sunset Sherbert" is an indica-dominant hybrid marijuana strain made by crossing Girl Scout Cookies with Pink Panties. This strain is an indica-dominant hybrid strain (cultivar) with an 85% indica to 15% sativa ratio. The story of Sunset Sherbert starts with the vision of Mario Guzman, also known as Mr. Sherbinski. He began by crossing a Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies (Thin Mint GSC) female with a Pink Panties male, a cultivar developed from Burmese Kush and Florida Kush genetics. It was Mr. Sherbinski, who (previously a grower for Cookies Family geneticists) originally created Sunset Sherbet. It earned third place at the 2017 Amsterdam Cannabis Cup for best Coffeeshop Flower, showcasing its popularity and quality on an international stage. Sherbert has dense little buds that are forest green with darker highlights of greens and purples. Its orange pistils are vibrant, sharp and appear as little spikes. The entirety of the buds are glued together by a thick coating of yellow trichomes. Over time, strains like Sherbacio, Sherbanger, and Gelato have traced their lineage back to Sunset Sherbert genetics. Gelato: Perhaps the most famous descendant, Gelato blends Sunset Sherbert with Thin Mint GSC and has become a modern classic.

Sunset Sherbet is a variant that is easy to cultivate, especially if you can provide a sheltered yet warm and sunny Mediterranean outdoor climate for it to flourish in. This strain is resistant to common molds and mildew, and is low maintenance enough for even a novice to grow. Sunset Sherbet isn't the easiest strain to grow, but she is also nowhere near the most difficult. It's probably not the first strain we would recommend to people looking for a start in the wonderful world of cannabis cultivation, but if you've got a few crops under your belt already you should be fine. This strain can take around 8 weeks to flower and be ready for a harvest. This strain when grown outdoors can yield an average of 11 ounces of bud per plant during harvest season. Sunset Sherbert can be expected to be ready for plucking around late September to early October. This is very much dependent on the cultivation medium, the environment, and whether she is grown indoors or out - but for the most part Sunset Sherbet crops have a flowering period of between 56 to 68 days. Sunset Sherbert can be expected to yield an average of about 8 ounces of fresh bud per square meter. It flowers in 8–10 weeks and produces moderate yields of 0.66–0.82 oz/ft² (200–250 g/m²) indoors or up to 19 oz (550 g) outdoors.
