Sherbet
Sherbet
Also known as: Sunset Sherbet, Sunset Sherbert, Sherbert, Sherbert OG
Overview
Sherbet, also known as Sunset Sherbet or Sunset Sherbert, is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain that was originally created by Mr. Sherbinski, who bred Sherbert intentionally to inherit the genetic lineage of its parent strain Girl Scout Cookies. Sherbert, also known as "Sherbet", "Sherbert OG", "Sunset Sherbet", and "Sunset Sherbert" is an indica-dominant hybrid marijuana strain made by crossing Girl Scout Cookies with Pink Panties. The strain emerged from the cannabis culture of San Francisco's Sunset District and quickly gained recognition for its exceptional quality, earning third place at the 2017 High Times Cannabis Cup. The creation story involves an accidental pollination event in Mr. Sherbinski's garden, where an inexperienced Sherbinski brought a male Pink Panties plant into a grow room full of GSC plants. He left it there for about two weeks. He came back to see powder over the plants. That's a clear sign of pollination from the male plant. This happy accident led to the development of one of the most sought-after dessert strains in the cannabis world. This combination resulted in a hybrid that is predominantly indica, with 85% indica genetics and 15% sativa. The strain's appearance is striking, featuring Christmas tree shaped minty green nugs with long orange hairs and a coating of tiny white crystal trichomes, often displaying vibrant purple and orange colorations that make it visually appealing.

Growing Information
Sunset Sherbet isn't the easiest strain to grow, but she is also nowhere near the most difficult. It's probably not the first strain we would recommend to people looking for a start in the wonderful world of cannabis cultivation, but if you've got a few crops under your belt already you should be fine. The strain has a flowering period of between 56 to 68 days (8-9 weeks). She works evenly well with both indoor and outdoor conditions, but she isn't a huge fan of overly warm climates. She seems to do best in the 70-degree F range, and with a slightly elevated relative humidity - something around 55% during flower. Her genetic lineage does offer a pretty decent amount of mold resistance, though she can be susceptible to mites and other pests, so keep an eye out for early signs of infestation. Sherbet is a moderate- to heavy-feeding strain. It responds well when given plenty of nitrogen in the vegetative cycle, and phosphorous and potassium during flowering. Indoor yields can be impressive, reaching up to 21 ounces per square meter, especially under 300-350 W LED lights.
